Joseph B. Carringer

Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) | Co-Founder

Joseph B. Carringer is Chief Strategy Officer and co-founder of Commonwealth Denim, and principal at Canna Markets Group. With over three decades of experience in the hemp industry and nearly four decades in apparel, he specializes in bridging agricultural systems, fiber processing, textile manufacturing, and consumer-facing product development.

At Commonwealth Denim, Joseph leads strategic development, research, and cross-functional coordination, focusing on building vertically integrated supply chains that preserve material integrity from field to finished product while aligning long-term manufacturing capability with market demand.

David Cook

Co-Founder | Manufacturing & Fabric Development

Dave Cook is a co-founder of Commonwealth Denim and founder of Tuscarora Mills. With decades of experience in apparel production, textile sourcing, and industrial manufacturing systems, he brings deep operational expertise to the development of American-made selvedge denim.

He leads fabric development and weaving operations, including the production of hemp selvedge denim on vintage Draper looms in Pennsylvania. His work bridges traditional textile craftsmanship with modern material innovation, translating raw fiber inputs into high-performance fabric.

Heidi Custer

Co-Founder | Fabric & Sourcing

Heidi Custer is a co-founder of Commonwealth Denim and co-founder of Tuscarora Mills, bringing extensive experience in textile sourcing, fabric development, and apparel manufacturing.

She worked alongside Dave Cook in India sourcing and producing boutique tie-dyed fabrics and garments for their Pittsburgh-based retail store, Mythos—an independent brand still widely remembered throughout Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio. This early work established a foundation in material selection, artisan production, and fabric-driven design.

At Commonwealth Denim, Heidi focuses on fabric sourcing, material coordination, and quality control across the supply chain, ensuring that fiber inputs and textile processes meet the project’s standards for performance, consistency, and integrity.

Nicole S. Salotti

Operations, Brand & Market Development

Nicole S. Salotti brings deep roots in the early hemp industry, having been a market leader during Hemp Industry 1.0. She served as Fashion Editor for HempTimes Magazine, as a buyer and manager for Planet Hemp in SoHo, and as Product Manager for High Times Magazine. She also managed the Planet Hemp online catalogue and e-commerce store, contributing to one of the earliest consumer-facing hemp retail platforms in the United States.

At Commonwealth Denim, Nicole supports operations, brand coordination, and market alignment, drawing on her experience across editorial, retail, product development, and early e-commerce to help ensure continuity between brand identity, customer experience, and execution.

Andrés Aiello

Co-Director, Sales & Social Media Marketing

Andrés Aiello serves as Co-Director of Sales and Social Media Marketing for Commonwealth Denim, working collaboratively to lead customer engagement, digital outreach, and brand visibility across platforms.

With a background in high-end men’s fashion retail, preprint brand development, streetwear design, and visual merchandising, he brings a strong understanding of both product presentation and audience connection. His work focuses on translating the Commonwealth Denim story—its materials, process, and values—into clear, compelling communication that supports direct-to-consumer growth and long-term brand development.

Keyon Freeman

Co-Director, Sales & Social Media Marketing

Keyon Freeman serves as Co-Director of Sales and Social Media Marketing for Commonwealth Denim, working in partnership to drive brand engagement, customer relationships, and market expansion.

With experience in high-end men’s fashion retail, preprint brand development, streetwear design, and visual merchandising, he brings a perspective rooted in both style and in-store presentation. His work focuses on building connections across retail, partnerships, and direct consumer channels, helping extend the reach of Commonwealth Denim while maintaining alignment with its core principles of quality, integrity, and long-term product relevance.
