How Your Jeans Are Made
Our approach is material-first.
We develop hemp denim using long-fiber, wet-spun yarn selected for strength, consistency, and performance. That yarn is woven in Pennsylvania on vintage Draper selvedge looms, producing a dense, durable fabric designed to improve with wear.
Every stage of development—from fiber selection to weaving, finishing, and garment construction—is guided by function, longevity, and repeatability.
Wherever possible, production is kept within the United States, supporting domestic manufacturing while working within the realities of today’s global textile infrastructure.
Where We are Now
Commonwealth Denim is entering its preliminary market launch with a limited production run based on finalized design samples.
This initial release is offered through preorder, allowing early supporters to participate directly in the development of a new standard for hemp denim while preserving the integrity of the production process.
The Model One
Model One is our first production release—a refined, heritage-inspired jean developed through extensive material testing, pattern iteration, and wear analysis.
Designed for everyday use and long-term performance, Model One represents the foundation of our system: a garment built from the fiber up, with every detail considered.
